Thursday 1st December

As usual I'll start with an update from last night. Popped over the road and found a cafe bar that served italian and angomerra (red wine to you and me.)  Everyone else, except Sophie and me, went on a walking tour. I've stopped doing things like that at the moment as my asthma is really bad, and I can't walk very far. The high humidity makes it even more difficult.

So there we are, surrounded by Christmas trees and I'm doing my best to ignore the pipped Christmas carols when there is an almighty bang and suddenly Sophie and I are dripping wet. It seems that someone left a two litre plastic bottle of coconut milk and water under the tree. It fermented and then exploded. Now not only do I not like Christmas but I'm scared of Christmas trees and presents under said tree!  The worse bit was that we didn't even get a discount on our bill or a free drink. Guess who didn't leave a tip!

We then took a slow wander around the night market which was not quite as bad as Cambodia, but you still had to haggle. Managed to buy a couple of bits and pieces.

After breakfast we got on a different mini bus to go to the caves. Personally I think this one is the worse driver we've had yet. On the way we gatecrashed an Indian wedding. All the ladies looked gorgeous in their saris.  Then onto the caves. I took one look and found a cafe and sat with some water. You have to go up nearly 300 steps to get to the caves. See the photo. And for those that are wondering, I'm still taking photos with the camera, just also taking the odd one on the phone for the blog. Sat and watched the monkeys scaring the tourists, including Lucy and Sophie.

Then we went to the KL Telecommunications Tower - the 4th largest in the world. Canada has the lastest and Tokyo is 2nd. 3rd is in Shanghi which I did the other year. The view from the tower of Kuala Lumpur is amazing.

We have to check out of the hotel at 6 tonight to catch the overnight train to Sinapore - sounds like it's going to interesting! And of course no photo from the window.
