We left the hotel at 8:30 this morning ton catch a local bus to Penang Hill. We're in Georgetown which is an island and was colanised by the British - we get everywhere! Anyway, once at the Hill we got a tram to the top. Humidity up there is much better, I'm really having problems breathing at the moment, both in Malaysia and Thailand.
Once down from the Hill it was another bus to a fishing jetty. It's all owned by one particular Chinese family. Afterwards we got in rickshaws and were cycled around the town, my favourite bite of any tour. Then a visit to the Khoo ancestrial home. Everyone else then went to Little India for something to eat before a lot of walking. I called it quits there and got a private rickshaw back to the hotel.
Popped down to the business centre and used their computer and internet to send the newsletter for amdram, so that's out of the way for another week and I think it's still only Monday. Might have to go and find a cold beer somewhere. The aircon in the room isn't good and I need to cool down.
And because I can, here's today's view from the window. Really wish I had been doing this bit since the beginning.
Founds loads of bars around the corner from the hotel, but they were all closed. Ended up in a coffee bar that sold beer, and lo and behold, free wifi!
